Maree Hughes is a graduate of the Glasgow school of Art where she studied fine art drawing and painting. She has won several awards for her drawings and paintings and regularly exhibits in Ayrshire and further afield. Her painting is inspired by Scottish mythology and preference is to work in oil on canvas. Giclee prints for sale in this shop are of recent work in oils. Recently she became an artist member of the Paisley Art Institute and the Society of Scottish Artists.

Maree also enjoys print making; making wall decorations and hand sewing little textile characters for art and craft fairs and some of them occasionally end up for sale online.

Presently based at the Courtyard Studios, Irvine, North Ayrshire.
